CVE-2021-22926 4 Haxx, Netapp, Oracle and 1 more 11 Curl, Active Iq Unified Manager, Clustered Data Ontap and 8 more 2022-05-16 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
libcurl-using applications can ask for a specific client certificate to be used in a transfer. This is done with the `CURLOPT_SSLCERT` option (`--cert` with the command line tool). When libcurl is built to use the macOS native TLS library Secure Transport, an application can ask for the client certificate by name or with a file name - using the same option. If the name exists as a file, it will be used instead of by name.If the appliction runs with a current working directory that is writable by other users (like `/tmp`), a malicious user can create a file name with the same name as the app wants to use by name, and thereby trick the application to use the file based cert instead of the one referred to by name making libcurl send the wrong client certificate in the TLS connection handshake.

CVE-2021-44549 1 Apache 1 Sling Commons Messaging Mail 2021-12-21 5.8 MEDIUM 7.4 HIGH
Apache Sling Commons Messaging Mail provides a simple layer on top of JavaMail/Jakarta Mail for OSGi to send mails via SMTPS. To reduce the risk of "man in the middle" attacks additional server identity checks must be performed when accessing mail servers. For compatibility reasons these additional checks are disabled by default in JavaMail/Jakarta Mail. The SimpleMailService in Apache Sling Commons Messaging Mail 1.0 lacks an option to enable these checks for the shared mail session. A user could enable these checks nevertheless by accessing the session via the message created by SimpleMessageBuilder and setting the property mail.smtps.ssl.checkserveridentity to true. Apache Sling Commons Messaging Mail 2.0 adds support for enabling server identity checks and these checks are enabled by default. - https://javaee.github.io/javamail/docs/SSLNOTES.txt - https://javaee.github.io/javamail/docs/api/com/sun/mail/smtp/package-summary.html - https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/mail/issues/429

CVE-2021-37698 2 Debian, Icinga 2 Debian Linux, Icinga 2021-12-03 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
Icinga is a monitoring system which checks the availability of network resources, notifies users of outages, and generates performance data for reporting. In versions 2.5.0 through 2.13.0, ElasticsearchWriter, GelfWriter, InfluxdbWriter and Influxdb2Writer do not verify the server's certificate despite a certificate authority being specified. Icinga 2 instances which connect to any of the mentioned time series databases (TSDBs) using TLS over a spoofable infrastructure should immediately upgrade to version 2.13.1, 2.12.6, or 2.11.11 to patch the issue. Such instances should also change the credentials (if any) used by the TSDB writer feature to authenticate against the TSDB. There are no workarounds aside from upgrading.
CVE-2021-40830 3 Amazon, Linux, Opengroup 4 Amazon Web Services Aws-c-io, Amazon Web Services Internet Of Things Device Software Development Kit V2, Linux Kernel and 1 more 2021-12-02 5.8 MEDIUM 8.8 HIGH
The AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Java, Python, C++ and Node.js appends a user supplied Certificate Authority (CA) to the root CAs instead of overriding it on Unix systems. TLS handshakes will thus succeed if the peer can be verified either from the user-supplied CA or the system’s default trust-store. Attackers with access to a host’s trust stores or are able to compromise a certificate authority already in the host's trust store (note: the attacker must also be able to spoof DNS in this case) may be able to use this issue to bypass CA pinning. An attacker could then spoof the MQTT broker, and either drop traffic and/or respond with the attacker's data, but they would not be able to forward this data on to the MQTT broker because the attacker would still need the user's private keys to authenticate against the MQTT broker. The 'aws_tls_ctx_options_override_default_trust_store_*' function within the aws-c-io submodule has been updated to override the default trust store. This corrects this issue. This issue affects: Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Java versions prior to 1.5.0 on Linux/Unix. Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Python versions prior to 1.6.1 on Linux/Unix. Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for C++ versions prior to 1.12.7 on Linux/Unix. Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Node.js versions prior to 1.5.3 on Linux/Unix. Amazon Web Services AWS-C-IO 0.10.4 on Linux/Unix.
CVE-2021-40831 2 Amazon, Apple 3 Amazon Web Services Aws-c-io, Amazon Web Services Internet Of Things Device Software Development Kit V2, Macos 2021-12-02 6.0 MEDIUM 7.2 HIGH
The AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Java, Python, C++ and Node.js appends a user supplied Certificate Authority (CA) to the root CAs instead of overriding it on macOS systems. Additionally, SNI validation is also not enabled when the CA has been “overridden”. The 'aws_tls_ctx_options_override_default_trust_store_*' function within the aws-c-io submodule has been updated to address this behavior. This issue affects: Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Java versions prior to 1.5.0 on macOS. Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Python versions prior to 1.7.0 on macOS. Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for C++ versions prior to 1.14.0 on macOS. Amazon Web Services AWS IoT Device SDK v2 for Node.js versions prior to 1.6.0 on macOS. Amazon Web Services AWS-C-IO 0.10.7 on macOS.

An issue was discovered in Mbed TLS before 2.25.0 (and before 2.16.9 LTS and before 2.7.18 LTS). A NULL algorithm parameters entry looks identical to an array of REAL (size zero) and thus the certificate is considered valid. However, if the parameters do not match in any way, then the certificate should be considered invalid.
CVE-2021-23162 1 Gallagher 1 Command Centre Mobile Connect 2021-11-23 6.8 MEDIUM 8.1 HIGH
Improper validation of the cloud certificate chain in Mobile Connect allows man-in-the-middle attack to impersonate the legitimate Command Centre Server. This issue affects: Gallagher Command Centre Mobile Connect for Android 15 versions prior to 15.04.040; version 14 and prior versions.
CVE-2020-15133 1 Faye-websocket Project 1 Faye-websocket 2021-11-18 5.8 MEDIUM 8.7 HIGH
In faye-websocket before version 0.11.0, there is a lack of certification validation in TLS handshakes. The `Faye::WebSocket::Client` class uses the `EM::Connection#start_tls` method in EventMachine to implement the TLS handshake whenever a `wss:` URL is used for the connection. This method does not implement certificate verification by default, meaning that it does not check that the server presents a valid and trusted TLS certificate for the expected hostname. That means that any `wss:` connection made using this library is vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle attack, since it does not confirm the identity of the server it is connected to. For further background information on this issue, please see the referenced GitHub Advisory. Upgrading `faye-websocket` to v0.11.0 is recommended.
CVE-2021-29737 3 Ibm, Linux, Microsoft 4 Aix, Infosphere Information Server, Linux Kernel and 1 more 2021-11-03 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH

CVE-2021-25634 2 Debian, Libreoffice 2 Debian Linux, Libreoffice 2021-10-18 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
LibreOffice supports digital signatures of ODF documents and macros within documents, presenting visual aids that no alteration of the document occurred since the last signing and that the signature is valid. An Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in LibreOffice allowed an attacker to modify a digitally signed ODF document to insert an additional signing time timestamp which LibreOffice would incorrectly present as a valid signature signed at the bogus signing time. This issue affects: The Document Foundation LibreOffice 7-0 versions prior to 7.0.6; 7-1 versions prior to 7.1.2.
CVE-2021-25633 2 Debian, Libreoffice 2 Debian Linux, Libreoffice 2021-10-18 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
LibreOffice supports digital signatures of ODF documents and macros within documents, presenting visual aids that no alteration of the document occurred since the last signing and that the signature is valid. An Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in LibreOffice allowed an attacker to create a digitally signed ODF document, by manipulating the documentsignatures.xml or macrosignatures.xml stream within the document to combine multiple certificate data, which when opened caused LibreOffice to display a validly signed indicator but whose content was unrelated to the signature shown. This issue affects: The Document Foundation LibreOffice 7-0 versions prior to 7.0.6; 7-1 versions prior to 7.1.2.

CVE-2021-20109 1 Zohocorp 1 Manageengine Assetexplorer 2021-07-28 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
Due to the Asset Explorer agent not validating HTTPS certificates, an attacker on the network can statically configure their IP address to match the Asset Explorer's Server IP address. This will allow an attacker to send a NEWSCAN request to a listening agent on the network as well as receive the agent's HTTP request verifying its authtoken. In AEAgent.cpp, the agent responding back over HTTP is vulnerable to a Heap Overflow if the POST payload response is too large. The POST payload response is converted to Unicode using vswprintf. This is written to a buffer only 0x2000 bytes big. If POST payload is larger, then heap overflow will occur.
CVE-2021-32574 1 Hashicorp 1 Consul 2021-07-28 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
HashiCorp Consul and Consul Enterprise 1.3.0 through 1.10.0 Envoy proxy TLS configuration does not validate destination service identity in the encoded subject alternative name. Fixed in 1.8.14, 1.9.8, and 1.10.1.
CVE-2019-20894 1 Traefik 1 Traefik 2021-07-28 4.3 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
Traefik 2.x, in certain configurations, allows HTTPS sessions to proceed without mutual TLS verification in a situation where ERR_BAD_SSL_CLIENT_AUTH_CERT should have occurred.
CVE-2020-9321 1 Traefik 1 Traefik 2021-07-28 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
configurationwatcher.go in Traefik 2.x before 2.1.4 and TraefikEE 2.0.0 mishandles the purging of certificate contents from providers before logging.
CVE-2019-0223 2 Apache, Redhat 3 Qpid, Jboss Amq Clients 2, Linux 2021-07-21 4.0 MEDIUM 7.4 HIGH
While investigating bug PROTON-2014, we discovered that under some circumstances Apache Qpid Proton versions 0.9 to 0.27.0 (C library and its language bindings) can connect to a peer anonymously using TLS *even when configured to verify the peer certificate* while used with OpenSSL versions before 1.1.0. This means that an undetected man in the middle attack could be constructed if an attacker can arrange to intercept TLS traffic.
