| CVE-2020-10690 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 3 more | 33 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 30 more | 2021-12-20 | 4.4 MEDIUM | 6.4 MEDIUM |
| There is a use-after-free in kernel versions before 5.5 due to a race condition between the release of ptp_clock and cdev while resource deallocation. When a (high privileged) process allocates a ptp device file (like /dev/ptpX) and voluntarily goes to sleep. During this time if the underlying device is removed, it can cause an exploitable condition as the process wakes up to terminate and clean all attached files. The system crashes due to the cdev structure being invalid (as already freed) which is pointed to by the inode. | |||||
| CVE-2021-42008 | 2 Linux, Netapp | 19 Linux Kernel, H300e, H300e Firmware and 16 more | 2021-12-17 | 6.9 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
| The decode_data function in drivers/net/hamradio/6pack.c in the Linux kernel before 5.13.13 has a slab out-of-bounds write. Input from a process that has the CAP_NET_ADMIN capability can lead to root access. | |||||
| CVE-2021-40490 | 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux and 1 more | 29 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel and 26 more | 2021-12-17 | 4.4 MEDIUM | 7.0 HIGH |

| A use-after-free vulnerability introduced in glibc upstream version 2.14 was found in the way the tilde expansion was carried out. Directory paths containing an initial tilde followed by a valid username were affected by this issue. A local attacker could exploit this flaw by creating a specially crafted path that, when processed by the glob function, would potentially lead to arbitrary code execution. This was fixed in version 2.32. | |||||
| CVE-2021-42252 | 2 Linux, Netapp | 19 Linux Kernel, H300e, H300e Firmware and 16 more | 2021-12-03 | 4.6 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
| An issue was discovered in aspeed_lpc_ctrl_mmap in drivers/soc/aspeed/aspeed-lpc-ctrl.c in the Linux kernel before 5.14.6. Local attackers able to access the Aspeed LPC control interface could overwrite memory in the kernel and potentially execute privileges, aka CID-b49a0e69a7b1. This occurs because a certain comparison uses values that are not memory sizes. | |||||
| CVE-2018-25015 | 2 Linux, Netapp | 17 Linux Kernel, H300e, H300e Firmware and 14 more | 2021-12-01 | 4.6 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |

| An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.14.8. A use-after-free in selinux_ptrace_traceme (aka the SELinux handler for PTRACE_TRACEME) could be used by local attackers to cause memory corruption and escalate privileges, aka CID-a3727a8bac0a. This occurs because of an attempt to access the subjective credentials of another task. | |||||
| CVE-2019-13272 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 20 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 17 more | 2021-11-28 | 7.2 HIGH | 7.8 HIGH |
| In the Linux kernel before 5.1.17, ptrace_link in kernel/ptrace.c mishandles the recording of the credentials of a process that wants to create a ptrace relationship, which allows local users to obtain root access by leveraging certain scenarios with a parent-child process relationship, where a parent drops privileges and calls execve (potentially allowing control by an attacker). One contributing factor is an object lifetime issue (which can also cause a panic). Another contributing factor is incorrect marking of a ptrace relationship as privileged, which is exploitable through (for example) Polkit's pkexec helper with PTRACE_TRACEME. NOTE: SELinux deny_ptrace might be a usable workaround in some environments. | |||||
| CVE-2021-42327 | 3 Fedoraproject, Linux, Netapp | 18 Fedora, Linux Kernel, H300e and 15 more | 2021-11-28 | 4.6 MEDIUM | 6.7 MEDIUM |
| dp_link_settings_write in drivers/gpu/drm/amd/display/amdgpu_dm/amdgpu_dm_debugfs.c in the Linux kernel through 5.14.14 allows a heap-based buffer overflow by an attacker who can write a string to the AMD GPU display drivers debug filesystem. There are no checks on size within parse_write_buffer_into_params when it uses the size of copy_from_user to copy a userspace buffer into a 40-byte heap buffer. | |||||
| CVE-2019-14814 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 3 more | 50 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 47 more | 2021-11-02 | 7.2 HIGH | 7.8 HIGH |
| There is heap-based buffer overflow in Linux kernel, all versions up to, excluding 5.3, in the marvell wifi chip driver in Linux kernel, that allows local users to cause a denial of service(system crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code. | |||||
| CVE-2020-25643 | 5 Debian, Linux, Netapp and 2 more | 6 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, H410c and 3 more | 2021-10-19 | 7.5 HIGH | 7.2 HIGH |
| A flaw was found in the HDLC_PPP module of the Linux kernel in versions before 5.9-rc7. Memory corruption and a read overflow is caused by improper input validation in the ppp_cp_parse_cr function which can cause the system to crash or cause a denial of service. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability. | |||||
| CVE-2019-16995 | 3 Linux, Netapp, Opensuse | 27 Linux Kernel, Aff A700s, Aff A700s Firmware and 24 more | 2021-07-21 | 7.8 HIGH | 7.5 HIGH |
| In the Linux kernel before 5.0.3, a memory leak exits in hsr_dev_finalize() in net/hsr/hsr_device.c if hsr_add_port fails to add a port, which may cause denial of service, aka CID-6caabe7f197d. | |||||
| CVE-2019-15538 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 28 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 25 more | 2021-06-02 | 7.8 HIGH | 7.5 HIGH |
| An issue was discovered in xfs_setattr_nonsize in fs/xfs/xfs_iops.c in the Linux kernel through 5.2.9. XFS partially wedges when a chgrp fails on account of being out of disk quota. xfs_setattr_nonsize is failing to unlock the ILOCK after the xfs_qm_vop_chown_reserve call fails. This is primarily a local DoS attack vector, but it might result as well in remote DoS if the XFS filesystem is exported for instance via NFS. | |||||
| CVE-2019-14821 | 8 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 5 more | 38 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 35 more | 2021-06-02 | 7.2 HIGH | 8.8 HIGH |
| An out-of-bounds access issue was found in the Linux kernel, all versions through 5.3, in the way Linux kernel's KVM hypervisor implements the Coalesced MMIO write operation. It operates on an MMIO ring buffer 'struct kvm_coalesced_mmio' object, wherein write indices 'ring->first' and 'ring->last' value could be supplied by a host user-space process. An unprivileged host user or process with access to '/dev/kvm' device could use this flaw to crash the host kernel, resulting in a denial of service or potentially escalating privileges on the system. | |||||
